FEDORA CORE -- CUTTING EDGE RED HAT TECHNOLOGY

Fedora Core is a very good Linux distribution that gives its users excellent
value for money for beginners new to Linux in general. It is sponsored by
Red Hat.

All packages are in RPM format, so you will need a programs such as RPM2TARGZ
or ALIEN that converts an RPM file to the more traditional tar.gz file. This
comes in very useful for looking at the Fedora source files which also comes
in the RPM packaged format.

There is also plenty of documentation available, as most books about Linux
in bookstores are based on the Red Hat/Fedora Distribution, and the CDs or
DVD are sometimes included in the books!!

Fedora Core is mainly for beginners, but for serious business users that require
mission critical services, you can migrate to Red Hat itself without problems.
However, if you want a cheaper alternative, why not give Centos a try.

NOTE: Fedora/Red Hat Linux is a cutting edge distribution, and requires cutting
edge hardware to run it!! You will need a minimum Intel Pentium 4 CPU with at
least 192 Mb RAM, which is much more greedy on resources than other Linux
Distros.

Here is the list of the directories or folders that you will see in
